I am always getting new ideas. I don't do anything with most of them but they keep coming to me. When I see something new advertised I think of all kinds of variations of it. I see other ways of using it besides what is advertised. I want to understand why I am like that. Other people don't seem to do this.

The concern is that the ideas sometimes keep me from staying focused on everyday tasks, like cleaning. This characteristic influences my achievement of current duties and requirements.
Describe the FIRST time and place and the LAST time and place this was an issue for you:
I don't remember the first time this was an issue for me but the last time was a motion sensor duck I saw in a catalog I browsed through while eating. The idea I had was to put a high pitched buzzer in the duck and use it to keep the cat off of the counter. I spent the next hour looking for circuitry to add to this duck. This took time away from what I was supposed to be doing.
Have you learned anything about this using other means?
Not much. I discussed it with a counselor one time and she said it was probably because I had an active mind and the technical projects I have worked with continue to sprout new ideas.
How will you determine when you have accomplished what you chose to, that the outcome of this regression met your needs?
I will know why I get these ideas and where they come from. That will help me determine which ones I should really do something with, like develop a motion sensor duck that keeps cats off of the counter.
